If you’re looking for Wizard Of Oz costumes you would think there are a limited number available, based on the main characters in the film, but you’ll be surprised at just how many costumes there are. There are variations on every character for men, women and children.
The most obvious Wizard of Oz costume has to be Dorothy, which would be relatively easy to put together yourself with a gingham fairytale storybook kind of dress and some red shoes. Add some accessories such as a bow in your hair and a basket and you have a Dorothy costume.
You can also get an official adult Wizard of Oz Dorothy Costume that consists of a knee length blue and white check gingham dress with an attached white blouse and attached crinoline petticoat, for a real 1940’s Judy Garland look.
The costume also includes a matching hair bow but to really get the right look you can get a brown Dorothy wig with plaits and blue ribbons. The other costumes for ladies are the witches - Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West. There are some really great Wicked Witch of the West costumes available, including an official Wizard Of Oz one that consists of a black dress featuring puffy shoulders with a short collar, and a cape with a wicked witch green interior and contrasting black exterior.
The costume also has a black and green witch hat but to complete the look properly the key is to paint your face green. You can get complete witch makeup and accessories that includes black fingernails, a witch nose, a colour palette, fake blood, cream makeup, a sponge and fake skin. Other necessary wicked witch accessories include a broomstick and a black wig.
If you prefer to be a good witch there are some gorgeous Glinda the Good Witch costumes, including an officially licensed one that consists of a long sparkly pink dress with a crown, and don’t forget to get a wand. You can also get other cute and sexy Glinda costumes featuring short satin pink skirts that can be worn with white hold ups and a blonde Glinda wig. A Glinda the Good Witch costume is also easy to put together by choosing a fairytale princess or fairy costume and accessorising with a wand.
